Easy Chair was designed by Stuart Farrell in 2012 as an oversized single lounge for ease and comfort. The low profile of the chair creates a seat perfect for relaxing down into and enjoying a nice beverage or reading a book. With an interest in supporting Australian design and manufacturing, Easy Chair was manufactured and assembled locally. The two components consist of a Birch Veneered plywood seat shell and a polished Aluminium frame. The intention of the design was to be clean and modern, with the original concept inspiration coming from Scandinavian materials and design form. Although the lounge only has two components, the two work in tandem, creating a form with strong lines and shadows from each angle.

Enchanted by mid-20th century design classics, Stuart explored the notion of exposed, simplistic and utilitarian forms which finally resulted in the Easy Chair. The modern Aluminium frame is offset by the sweeping warm ply seat in a bid to highlight the beauty of both of the raw materials.  Proposed to fit in with most interiors, the Easy Chair will sit perfectly as a centre piece or as part of the interior styling within a Lounge room, Bedroom or Reception. The simple design means that disassembly and customisation is possible with future models offering an upholstered seat.

Although somewhat larger, the Easy Chair is highly versatile as users are immediately greeted by its comfortable sitting angle and wide form, inducing a feeling of relaxation with a hint of authority.
